‘The Founders’ by Théophile Bouchet Galliano

ICHANT Gallery was founded in 2020 by Lalita Chant and Théophile Bouchet Galliano with the shared desire to federate young emerging artists underrepresented in the contemporary art scene.

“What is of our time?” This is the essential question driving our aspiration to showcase contemporary works which anchor and coexist in the present, without proclaiming a priori. We have imagined a gallery where craftsmanship and creativity are met with professional transparency and social equality, creating an artistic transversality of rich aesthetic research and production.

ICHANT Gallery aims to build up a collection of coherent works from a wide and diverse range of young, emerging artists. By remaining meticulously transparent, and rejecting common practices of insider price manipulation, we wish to mend the precariousness and inherent inequality felt by many artists today.

By presenting through digital technology, ICHANT Gallery uses the virtual to reconcile and disseminate art from multiple disciplines, whether it be illustration, printed, experimental figuration or complete abstraction. Our goal is to further democratise art through access, and celebrate all that is precious, delicate and hypnotic in the artistic act.

From collectors, artists to curators, women still remain an unjustifiable minority in the broader art world. To break this reality and injustice, ICHANT Gallery is committed to giving female artists the platform and ongoing support needed to foster their careers and change mentalities.
