After making an animated film for FRANCE3 based on a poem by Jacques Prévert, Larrivé moved on to direct ‘La Chasse Aux Toiles’ (Hunting for Canvas) in 2015 for the Museum of Hunting and Nature, which was then exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo in 2017 as part of the exhibition “Appareiller”.

Larrivé has since worked on a number of music videos and animated commercials; notable collaborations include Rimowa, l'Occitane en Provence and Fnac. A music video she co-created for the electronic music group Sabrina and Samantha, consisted of 50 sets all hand drawn and coloured, animating their troupe of characters over the top for this psychedelic trance of a film. The clip was presented in Beaux Arts Magazine and was screened at the Club des DA festival in June 2019 winning her the silver award in the New Talent category. She has also collaborated with magazines and illustration houses such as DB Mobil, The Parisianer, Maison Tangible, Kiblind and Papier Magazine.

As a painter and video artist, it was during her studies at ENSAD Paris that Marie Larrivé developed a practice of still and moving images. Trained in the techniques of modelling, traditional cartoon and painting, she explores different types of narration through these medias.

Questions of movement and fiction are at the heart of her practice. In the course of her projects, she questions the very technique of animation by working as much on experimental video as on the creation of complex stories. For her, the interest of traditional animation techniques lies in their margin of error and accident. The illusion of movement created by the succession of hand-painted images highlights the creator's gesture: each variation from one image to another in the brushstroke creates vibrations of colour and matter.
